A book author named Jeanette Winterson made a quote about island in her book. It represents to beautiful islands named Nusa Penida, a beautiful islands in southeast of Bali, Indonesia that includes the neighbouring small islands of Nusa Lembongan. It is a some 200 square kilometers and much larger than Nusa Lembongan. The people who live there are island folk, friendly generous, they care.

The wind rippling over the ocean and the salty islands air. Nusa Penida covers a wide area of diving locations such as Penida Bay, Malibu Point, Manta Point (Batu Lumbung), Batu Meling, Batu Abah and Toyapakeh. There was about 1.419 hectares coral sites in the area of Nusa Penida.


Toyapakeh is a port located on Nusa Penida. It’s the nearest, easiest and quite cheap alternative way to Nusa Penida. It has a stretch of reefs and being special for its pillars of coral. It has an area of rugged bommies with color and fish as a highlight of Toyapakeh diving.

Traditional boat called Jukung usually departs from Denpasar to Sanur with 90 minutes long journey. You can also reach Nusa Penida faster by fast boats, it takes 50 minutes away with variety price and type of fast boats to choose. Ferry boat also can be a choice if you depart from Padang Bai to Nusa Penida. You can also reach Nusa Penida fom Kusamba. There are public boats from from Sanur, Kusamba or Padang Bai in East Bali.

Buy your tickets from office around the beach side for IDR 45.000 – IDR 75.000 and ready in the beach at 06.30 AM to catch the public speed boat. In Nusa Penida, you will be welcomed by school of colorful fish of all varieties, including the batfish, giant trevallies, sea turtles, tiger fish and occasionally sunfish (Mola mola).
